The artboards feature in Photoshop works much like its Adobe Illustrator counterpart in that each artboard is treated as a separate layered document. Each artboard has its own layers, layer groups, text, smart objects, and anything else you can add to a Photoshop document. The 3D object and camera tools become active when a 3D layer is selected. Use the 3D object tools to change the position or scale of a 3D model; use the 3D camera tools to change the view of the scene. If your system supports OpenGL, you can also use the 3D Axis to manipulate 3D models and cameras. See Using the 3D Axis. If you can think it, you can make it with Photoshop CC, the world’s best imaging and design app. Create and enhance photographs, illustrations, and 3D artwork. Design websites and mobile apps. Edit videos, simulate real-life paintings, and more. It’s everything you need to make any idea real. The creative world runs on Photoshop. In the streamlined 3D panel, select specific elements you want to edit: At the top of the 3D panel, select Scene, Meshes, Materials, or Lights. Select an individual element (such as Current View in the Scene section). Or select multiple elements to apply uniform properties. Announced on October 18 during Adobe Max, Photoshop 2018 includes 360˚ compatibility for editing directly into the panoramic file. Many 360˚ Panoramic Photographers have been keen to try out the new functionality but one hard to resolve issue popped up.
Issues
'my 3D menu is greyed out and I can't select 'Spherical Panorama/New Panorama Layer from Selected Layer(s)'
This is a problem that a friend of mine, Alexander Nickolaivich, ran into today on his MacBook 15' and it took quite a bit of sleuthing between the two of us to work out a solution. Here are some things to try if you have greyed out 3D menu items.
1. Open Photoshop 2018
2. Select: Menu/File/Preferences/Performance
3. Make sure that 'Use Graphics Processor' is checked
2. Select: Menu/File/Preferences/Performance

4. Click on 'Advanced Settings'
5. Make sure 'Use Graphics Processor to Accelerate Computation' is checked
5. Make sure 'Use Graphics Processor to Accelerate Computation' is checked
6. Quit out of Photoshop and restart to make the changes take effect
If your system supports GPU acceleration you can check that too. It will not have any effect on the 3D functionality but it can be used to accelerate the Oil Paint Filter and in the future further native OS api for graphics acceleration.
If grayed out it means your system's GPU doesn't meet one of the requirements (GPU model or driver version).

If your graphics card is older than 4 to 5 years, then it is most probably not supported anymore in the latest Photoshop version. The same applies to non-dedicated graphic cards: in this case your computer doesn't have a separate graphics card, but the graphics processor unit (GPU) is integrated in the same chip with the CPU.
You can check the list of unsupported cards here. Follow the steps below to find out the model of your GPU:
